2025–2026 Senior Festival Audition Requirements
VOCAL • STRINGS • WINDS • PERCUSSION • JAZZ
For Senior Festival Vocal Auditions, there is a limit of 10 sopranos and 10 altos per school.
Double voice auditions are not allowed (e.g. auditioning as both soprano and alto).

Students will sing their vocal part (S, A, T, or B) along with the recording below without that voice part included. Students should be able to sing comfortably and with the appropriate range for the chosen voice part as follows:

Soprano: C4 to C6

Alto: G3 to F5

Tenor: B2 to A4

Bass: E2 to E4
Scales:
Students must sing a major scale as written on this scale sheet.
The recording below will be used to provide the starting pitch and tempo.
Sight-Reading:
A short excerpt will be provided for sight-reading.
Students will be given one minute to look at it before starting.
All methods of sight-singing are acceptable (solfege, numbers, neutral syllables).

The sight-reading excerpt will meet these criteria:

It will be in the same major key as the scale.

It will be in 4/4 time.

It will begin and end on the tonic.

It will consist of scalar motion and triadic leaps.

Rhythms may include whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes, as well as dotted-quarter/eighth note combinations.
